Meintjieskop Guest House opened in 1992, with only 3 rooms as starting point. Through the years, we became well known and more popular amongst guests visiting Pretoria. Newly built private rooms were added to the Guesthouse, and we can now accommodate up to 16 Guests.
Situated against the south-eastern slope of the historic Meintjieskop hill, the Guest House rubs shoulders with the Presidency, Foreign Affairs and is a mere 600m from the Union Buildings overlooking Pretoria.
We pride ourselves in the services we provide all our guests. Aside from these services, we create an atmosphere where you feel at home.
The University of Pretoria is one of South Africa’s largest universities, also known as TUKS or TUKKIES. It is just a stone’s throw away and many seminars are held here.
On the right is a picture of the administration building also known as “The Ship” amongst students because of its ship like appearance.
There are many historical architectural buildings on the university grounds such as the Arts Building and the Merensky Library building.

As one of the best known architectural accomplishments of Sir Herbert Baker, the Union Buildings in Pretoria is still a popular tourist attraction apart from its practical application in modern day South Africa. Although the Union Building is not open to the public, you can visit the gardens surrounding the Presidential offices: the well manicured gardens surrounding the building and the impressive steps leading up to the entrance of the Union Buildings provide the perfect backdrop for memorable pictures.
Sport lovers will find the location of the Guest House to be just prefect. It is close to the Loftus Versfeld Sport Stadium and you can easily walk to and from games and matches. It’s also surrounded by a few of the well-known schools of the city such as , Pretoria High School for Girls, Afrikaanse Hoër Seunskool and Afrikaanse Hoër Meisieskool Pretoria.
